Building work starts on Stoke-on-Trent’s newest housing estate

Building work has started on Stoke-on-Trent’s newest housing estate.

Keepmoat Homes has moved onto the former Chatterley Whitfield Sports Ground, in Fegg Hayes, after receiving planning permission from Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

The development – made up of three and four bedroom homes – will be known as Hollington Grange.

Wedgwood Farm Community Group had objected to the 157-home development off Biddulph Road.

But members of council’s planning committee rejected their concerns late last year.

The developer must pay £32,224 towards local healthcare services and £92,244 towards extra school places as part of the planning approval.

Prospective buyers can now register their interest in the properties. The prices have yet to be released.

A Keepmoat Homes spokesman said: “This carefully chosen location – with everything you need close to home – offers everything you need for modern, connected living.”
