Burslem B&M back open bigger and better after 14-week makeover

Discount giant B&M has expanded one of its Stoke-on-Trent stores – complete with wider aisles and air conditioning.

The makeover of the Burslem shop has taken 14 weeks and a five-day closure to complete.

But the Waterloo Road store is now back open for business – and shoppers love it.

Other changes include a new ceiling, new lights, and new flooring.

Manager Sue Chadwick has worked for B&M for 19 years and managed the Burslem store for eight years.

She said: “We have totally gutted the building and it has been been extended.

“We’ve had new aisles put in, new ceiling, flooring and lights, and air conditioning.

“We have had everything new, including the back offices.

“We were only closed for five days but the full revamp has taken 14 weeks – we have been doing it a bit at a time.

“It’s been a long time coming. We’re happy with it – it’s beautiful now. It was very much needed.”

Shoppers have also welcomed the change.

Abby Standeven said: “I come here all the time. It’s much bigger and better now, and I come once or twice a week to get a few bits.”
