Cop hurt as quad bike runs over her foot on Stoke-on-Trent road



A police officer was hurt when a quad bike drove over her foot – after the rider refused to stop.

Police had been called out to Hamil Road in Burslem following reports of ‘vehicle crime’ in the neighbourhood.

And the force says they found a man on a quad bike which the force say failed to stop.

A female officer was subsequently injured when the bike ran over her foot – causing bruising.

Following the incident – which took place at around 7.55pm on July 22 – a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and assault of an emergency worker.

A spokesperson for the force said: “He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.”
