Families are being urged to stay at home this Easter Sunday as the coronavirus death toll hit 9,875 yesterday.
Officers from Staffordshire Police have been patrolling parks and beauty spots across the county but residents have still been spotted flouting the Covid-19 lockdown rules.
Yesterday saw scorching sun and highs of 20 degrees across North Staffordshire and while today is set to be slightly cooler, the stay at home message remainds the same.
Last night Staffordshire Police revealed special constables – volunteer officers – had been out in Leek, Endon, and Biddulph, ensuring people were complying with the Government guidelines.
They tweeted: “It is great to see the public adhering to the Government guidelines. #StayatHome.”
It comes after the lastest data showed there had been a drop in car usage across March after Boris Johnson banned all non-essential travel. Limiting trips from home for essential shopping, work, or daily exercise.
