A driver who only recently passed their test has been fined £100 for travelling with a mum and an unrestrained toddler in the back seat.
The Staffordshire Police Road Polcing Unit – dedicated traffic cops – took to social media to reveal they had stopped the motorist who was travelling through Cannock.
They said the woman was in the backseat and the young toddler was not in a proper babyseat.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Stay safe. This was the last thing on this mum and her partner’s mind as they took a journey in the car with their toddler not safely secured in a proper child seat.
“We don’t need to put anyone at risk or create more work for the NHS.
“A £100 fine was issued to the driver.”
The NHS is currently battle against the coronavirus pandemic as the UK-wide lockdown continues. Families are being urged to only leave home for essential reasons such as daily exercise, shopping, medical appointments, or travelling to work.
