Firefighters discovered a man’s body after being called to a bungalow fire.
Emergency services were called to Woodlands Park, Congleton, shortly before 5am yesterday morning (Monday April 13).
The fire was confined to one room of the property.
Fire investigators do not believe the fire was suspicious.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said three fire engines had been called to the blaze.
He said: “At around 5am firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a bungalow in Woodlands Park, Congleton.
“On arrival crews discovered that the fire was confined to one room.
“Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.
“A large fan was then used to clear smoke from the property whilst firefighters checked for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.
“Sadly, firefighters discovered the body of a man in the bungalow. His next of kin have been informed.
“Firefighters were in attendance for several hours.
“Fire investigators have attended the scene to establish the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.”
