Police have named a woman who was allegedly murdered at her North Staffordshire home.
The body of Ann Wendy Morse – known as Wendy – was discovered by officers who forced their way into an address in Tunstall Road, Knypersley, on Sunday evening (March 22).
The 71-year-old’s death is currently being treated as suspicious but no arrests have been made.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place to establish a cause of death.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Hannan, senior investigating officer, said: “Although she has not yet been formally identified, officers sadly believe it to be Wendy. Her death is being treated as suspicious and a post mortem will take place to establish how she died.
“Specially-trained officers are currently with Wendy’s family to offer support at this difficult time.”
Forensic officers in white suits were yesterday seen on the front garden of the property.
Door-to-door inquiries are today continuing.
StokeonTrentLive readers have also shared their condolences with the family of the pensioner who is yet to be officially named.
