First Potteries’ tenth bus timetable shake-up since start of lockdown

Stoke-on-Trent’s main bus operator has made more changes to its timetables – the tenth shake up since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.

Transport giant First Potteries has axed some journeys and introduced extra ones in response to requests by passengers and its own observations.

It means the bus timetable has now been changed 10 times since the start of lockdown in March last year.

Previously, the company had axed dozens of services as passenger levels plummeted to an all-time low when families were ordered to stay at home during lockdown.

Now after non-essential shops, pubs and restaurants reopened last week, the company has unveiled its latest timetable shake-up.

The changes, which came into force on April 18, affect routes 3/3a, 5, 7, 11, 18, 25, 99 and 101.

A First Potteries spokesman said: “Following requests from passengers and our own observations we are making changes to some services from 18 April 2021.”

The new-look timetable means:

Services 3/3A Hanley – Tunstall – Kidsgrove – Talke/Crewe

New timetable introduced, with 9 buses each hour in the daytime on Mondays to Fridays between Hanley and Tunstall, extending to Kidsgrove (6 buses each hour), Butt Lane (4 buses each hour) Talke Pits (every 30 minutes and Crewe (every 30 minutes).
