Knifeman arrested in Stoke-on-Trent street



A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a person was spotted with a knife in a Stoke-on-Trent street.

Officers were called to Beresford Street in Shelton shortly before 10am today (May 13).

A weapon was recovered from the scene.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were notified of a man seen with a knife on Beresford Street, in Shelton, shortly before 10am this morning

“A weapon was recovered and a 35-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of affray and of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

“He remains in custody while inquiries are ongoing.”
