Lisnagar Oscar causes Cheltenham Festival upset as 50-1 shot wins Stayers Hurdle ahead of Ronald Pump and Bacardys
Lisnagar Oscar has provided the biggest shock at the Cheltenham Festival so far this year after emerging victorious at the Stayers Hurdle on Thursday afternoon.
The Rebecca Curtis-trained horse proved too good in the 3.30pm race as it finished first with jockey Adam Wedge.
Adding to the surprise nature of the outcome, Ronald Pump (20-1) was second, with Bacardys third at 33-1.
Hot favourite Paisley Park, who has been such a dominant force in the division, including in this race last year, never threatened to get in a serious blow.
