In the blink of an eye and swipe of a foot in the last minute of normal time at Kenilworth Road, Stoke City dropped from 18th to 21st in the Championship.
All had seemed well for almost the entire game as Sam Vokes, recalled at the expense of Tyrese Campbell, gave Stoke an early lead and Luton Town were limited to pot shots.
But it all changed in the 90th minute when James Chester, also recalled, tripped Callum McManaman after Luton had made headway down the Stoke left. James Collins sent Jack Butland the wrong way from the penalty spot and the pressure is back on in spades – not least because of big wins for Wigan and Huddersfield.
