Man does a runner from car loaded with stolen fags and milk

Police are hunting a motorist who abandoned his car – loaded with stolen cigarettes and powdered milk.

Officers say the driver fled from the BMW after dumping it on The Moat in Weston Coyney on Thursday night at around 6pm.

And the force believes the items inside – which they say are worth hundreds of pounds – were swiped from the Co-op in Weston Coyney. Police say they discovered cigarettes and powdered milk inside.

Now Staffordshire Police are continuing their enquiries as they look to track down the driver who fled.

Announcing the incident, the force’s road policing unit wrote on Twitter: “Have seized a vehicle in the Weston Coyney area in relation to a £1,000 shop-lifting. The driver ran off from the location leaving his vehicle, full of stolen goods at the location!”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or message the force via Facebook or Twitter.
