Man taken to hospital after accident involving pedestrian and bus in city centre

A man has been taken to hospital following a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus this afternoon (Wednesday March 11).

Emergency services were called to Regent Road, Hanley, shortly before 3pm today following the accident – which one reader told us took place near the Macari Centre.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said:  “We were called by the police at 2:47pm to reports of a collision involving a bus and pedestrian on Regent Road in Hanley.

“We assessed one patient, a man.

“He has been taken to to hospital with minor injuries.”
