More than 200 cases of coronavirus have now been confirmed in the Cheshire East local authority update.
In today’s update Public Health England confirmed there were now 209 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area – which includes towns such as Crewe, Alsager, Nantwich, Sandbach, Congleton and Macclesfield.
As with all numbers regarding confirmed cases due to limited testing the actual number will be far higher.
The figure is up from the 196 confirmed in the area in Monday’s update.
In other areas of Cheshire there are 227 cases in Cheshire West and Cheshire, 162 in Warrington and 107 in Halton.
There have been a total of 26 deaths at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – which includes Crewe’s Leighton Hospital.
East Cheshire NHS Trust, which includes Macclesfield District General Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital, has recorded 12 deaths.
There have been 60 deaths at the UHNM Trust – which includes Royal Stoke University Hospital and Stafford County Hospital.
There have now been 55,242 confirmed cases across the country and 6,159 deaths across the UK.
