More than 30 more cases of Covid-19 have now been confirmed across the Cheshire East local authority area.
A total of 257 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in the area – up from 226 in yesterday’s update from Public Health England.
Elsewhere in Cheshire there are 289 cases in Cheshire West and Chester, 211 in Warrington and 148 in Halton.
Birmingham still has the highest number of confirmed cases of any single local authority area in England – with 1,524.
As with all numbers regarding confirmed Covid-19 cases due to limited testing the actual number will be far higher.
There have been a total of 34 deaths at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – which includes Crewe’s Leighton Hospital.
East Cheshire NHS Trust, which includes Macclesfield District General Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital, has recorded 16 deaths.
There have been 71 deaths at the UHNM Trust – which includes Royal Stoke University Hospital and Stafford’s County Hospital.
There have now been 65,077 confirmed cases across the country and 7,978 deaths across the UK.
The UK government does not currently release figures for how many people have recovered from coronavirus following hospital treatment.
