A North Staffordshire Bargain Booze is offering free home deliveries to anyone self-isolating due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Currently there are 798 were confirmed cases in the UK – including four in Staffordshire – although it is believed to be far hgher.

The death doll has now risen to 21 in the UK.

It has lead to many families opting to reduce trips outside to cut the risk of catching the illness.

Now the Clayton branch of Bargain Booze wants to ‘help the community out as much’ following the outbreak of the deadly bug.

In a Facebook post, the Hereford Avenue store said: “Anybody who feels they need to self isolate that needs anything at all please call the store and we will do our absolute up most to deliver what you need to your door free of charge when staffing allows this.

“This can be a loaf, milk or alcohol – we have a good selection of grocery such as tea, coffee, cereal, pasta, shampoo, toilet roll, cleaning products etc.

“We will try our up most to deliver what you need as soon as physically possible with absolutely no delivery charge.

“This is not about making money, this is about helping our local community and someone who may have no family to help or even someone whose family are also self-isolating. Please if you need help no matter how small please just ask.”
