One of Stoke-on-Trent’s best-known hotels has been sold.
The Sneyd Arms Hotel, in Tunstall, had been marketed for as much as £395,000.
But the asking price was later dropped to £285,000 before a deal was reached.
Now property agent Sidney Phillips will not be drawn on rumours circulating around Tunstall that a local shop has bought the premises.
The 16-bedroom hotel, on Tower Square, boasts a public bar, a lounge bar, a restaurant, and a function room. It has been closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ahead of the sale, Sidney Phillips agent Dean McVay said: “Although the premises is currently closed, it offers the potential for a new hands-on operator to create a new business in their own style, or similarly let the property for operation by a third party to produce a rental income, as the current owner has done.”
