‘Our president’ – Concerned Stoke City fans respond to news club legend may have had coronavirus



Fans of Stoke City in general and Denis Smith in particular have been registering their admiration, concern and best wishes to the club legend via our Facebook page.

It follows his disclosure yesterday that he believes he was a victim of coronavirus – before the word had barely registered in this country.

He believes he was struck down after contracting it during a visit to York in early February, showing all the recognised symptoms over the next fortnight before making a full recovery.
