A paedophile pensioner has been found guilty of sex attacks on a girl.
Ivan Keeling was on trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court facing charges of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14.
He was also accused of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, sexually assaulting a child under 16 and inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity.
Now the 74-year-old, of Hammersley Hayes Road, Cheadle, has been convicted by a jury and will be sentenced next week. He is already serving a 16-year sentence for offences for which he was jailed in 2018.
Speaking after the case, Detective Constable Dawn Moody, of Staffordshire Police, praised the bravery of the victim for coming forward.
She said: “I want to pay tribute to the victim and the tremendous courage and bravery she showed in bringing this case to the courts.
“We will continue to do whatever is necessary to bring those responsible for these heinous crimes to justice, whilst ensuring the victims and their families are given the support they need.”
Anyone who has suffered sexual abuse, or suspects others may be subject to sexual abuse, is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101.
Alternatively, the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through the Crimestoppers website.
