He is now due to be sentenced on Monday, July 26.

Detective Constable Jennie Holland, of Staffordshire Police, said: “This was a very distressing incident as the victim was walking home alone when they were assaulted. I’m glad they had the confidence and courage to come forward with evidence so we could bring this case before the courts.

“This was a random attack where the victim was targeted by a complete stranger. We will continue to do whatever it takes to bring offenders to justice and ensure people feel safe on our county’s streets.”

Anyone who has suffered sexual abuse, or suspects others may be subject to sexual abuse, is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101.
