Piers Morgan has praised Stoke City and the Denise Coates Foundation after the foundation awarded a £10m grant to staff and patients at Royal Stoke and County Hospital – and Potters fans loved it!
Piers said the £10m grant awarded to the hospitals was an “amazing gesture”, speaking on Good Morning Britain today.
“Stoke City – you wouldn’t think of them as being one of the big players of football,” he said.
“They’ve got wealthy owners and the owners have not only committed to do five months, I believe, of full pay for all staff but they have also donated £10 million to the local NHS which is an amazing gesture.
“I think it’s the Coates family. They are very wealthy, but you know what? A lot of wealthy people are stepping up and a lot of wealthy people are not stepping up.”
