Police have been called to a Stoke-on-Trent street this evening following an attack.
Officers were alerted to an incident at the Salvation Army, in Vale Street, Stoke, shortly before 10pm tonight (November 8).
Eye-witnesses report seeing paramedics at the scene.
Details of any injuries and arrests have not been released at this stage.
One woman said: “One unmarked police car came speeding past with one marked car. Then another marked car came a few minutes later, followed by a marked car and an ambulance. All of them had there lights on.
“They all stopped and parked outside the Salvation Army and then went down the drive to walk in.”
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of an assault in Vale Street, Stoke, at 9.44pm this evening.
“Officers remain at the scene as inquiries get underway. It is too early to say whether there have been any serious injuries or arrests at this stage.”
