Police carry out drugs raids in North Staffordshire town



Police have carried out a series of drug raids in a Staffordshire Moorlands town today – Thursday February 27.

Officers have carried out warrants at a number of addresses in Leek today – with a cannabis grow among those found.

A number of readers contacted us after seeing police activity on Ashbourne Road this afternoon – with police also spotted on Compton.

Western Power Distribution, who deal with electricity infrastructure, have also been in attendance with police on Ashbourne Road.

Staffordshire Police said:  “We have executed three drug-related search warrants looking for both class A and Class B drugs, recovering some cannabis.

“We are currently dealing with a cannabis cultivation in the Leek area.”
