Detectives looking for a missing 30-year-old woman have called off the search after the discovery of a body.
Staffordshire Police had been searching for Theresa Steele after she was last seen in the Rugeley area on Monday.
At the time officers said they were ‘increasingly concerned’ for Theresa, who was from Rugeley.
However yesterday afternoon the body of a woman – which has been formally identified as Theresa – was found on open land near to Wolseley Bridge near to Rugeley yesterday afternoon.
Detective Constable Jason Hughes, of CID South, said: “Theresa’s family have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this very difficult time. They are being supported by police officers.”
A report will be prepared for HM Coroner.
