Police issue CCTV appeal after nightclub attack left man in hospital


Police investigating a nightclub attack which left a man with ‘potentially serious injuries’ have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to.

Officers and paramedics were called to Market Place, in Leek, following reports of an assault.

Now Staffordshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident which took place at 1.50am on September 11.

A spokesman said: “Do you recognise this man? Officers wish to speak to him in connection with an assault in a nightclub on Market Place, Leek. at approximately 1.50am on Saturday, September 11.

“The incident led to another man requiring hospital treatment.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service says an ambulance was sent to the scene.

A spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of an assault in Market Place, Leek.

“One ambulance attended the scene. On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man. He was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment at the scene and was conveyed to hospital for further assessment.”

The force has not said which venue the assault occurred in.
