Police name Stoke-on-Trent woman who died in A50 crash



Police have named a woman who died following a two-vehicle collision on the A50.

The emergency services were called to the A50 Blythe Bridge at around 6.30pm on Thursday (April 15).

Officers have now confirmed Kveta Hangonyiova, aged 64, from Burslem, died at the scene.

She was inside a white Vauxhall Insignia car which collided with a white flatbed HGV.

A 64-year-old man was also inside the car and he remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Police attended along with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

“Two casualties were located out of a white Vauxhall Insignia with serious injuries.

“Despite the efforts of the emergency services a woman in her 60s was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.

“Formal identification of the woman has now taken place and police can confirm that 64-year-old Kveta Hangonyiova of Burslem, died at the scene.

“A 64-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and specialist officers continue to support family members at this difficult time.”
