Police seize 80 cannabis plants in Stoke-on-Trent house raid



Police have seized around 80 cannabis plants from a house.

Officers from Staffordshire Police made the discovery at a property in Smith Street, Longton.

Nearby residents saw several police vehicles descend on the street at 2.30pm on Friday.

Police found cannabis plants on both floors of the house, and had to call in engineers to make sure the property was safe.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers attended a property in Smith Street at around 2.30pm on Friday (June 11) and discovered the grow within the ground and upper floor rooms.

“Officers remained at the scene on Friday while engineers made the property safe.

“An investigation is underway.”

Anyone with information is advised to call police on 101 referring to incident 449 of June 11.
