A Staffordshire Moorlands pub has closed due to a customer catching coronavirus.
The Yew Tree Inn, Cauldon, has now shut its doors for the time being – until they are advised it is safe to reopen.
In a statement this afternoon the pub said: “The time has come to make the most difficult decision in my short time as landlord of the Yew Tree Inn (Cauldon).
“We received the incredibly sad news today about one of our customers and friends who now has the coronavirus.
“The Yew Tree Inn is now closed until we are advised it is safe to reopen.”
Pubs and bars across the UK remain open so far as the Covid-19 pandemic continues in the UK.
There are now 137 confirmed deaths in the country.
