Road closed as former working men’s club goes up in flames – updates



Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a former working men’s club in Stoke-on-Trent this evening.

Smoke is currently billowing from the derelict Holden Lane Working Men’s Club on Ralph Drive in Sneyd Green.

Engines from Hanley, Burslem and Longton have been sent to the scene.

Eyewitnesses say emergency services have now closed the road.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Four pumps and an aerial platform are currently dealing with a derelict building on fire in Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent.

“Crews from Hanley, Burslem and Longton are at the scene.”
