David Prutton, Sky Sports’ Championship expert, has been predicting the outcome of this weekend’s big matches in the second tier.
And games he’s been looking at include Stoke City’s trip to fellow strugglers Luton Town and the televised game between Hull City and promotion hopefuls Leeds United.
And he’s been at it again by tipping a 2-1 defeat for Michael O’Neill’s men at Kenilworth Road this afternoon (3pm).
The encouraging thing for Stoke fans is that Prutton forecast an identical result for their midweek clash with Blackburn Rovers – but the battling Potters returned home with a valuable point after a goalless draw at Ewood Park.
Prutton has also been taking a punt on the result of games featuring clubs around Stoke at the wrong end of the table.
And the 2-1 defeats he is predicting for Wigan at West Brom and Middlesbrough against Forest on Monday night would be welcomed by Stoke fans.
A 1-1 draw for Huddersfield and Charlton is not an idea, but you can’t win them all.
In other games, the Sky man reckons Cardiff will edge out promotion-chasing Brentford 2-1, Millwall will beat Bristol City 1-0, QPR will overcome in-form Birmingham City 2-1, Blackburn will prevail 1-0 at home over Swansea while Fulham will claim a 1-0 win over Preston in another promotion battle.
