Parents are being reassured a school is doing ‘everything it can’ to stay open despite several staff having to self-isolate.
New Ford Academy, in Smallthorne, wrote to families yesterday to update them on the situation.
In the letter, headteacher Sam Ashley said: “Over the weekend, we have had a small number of staff members who have tested positive for Covid-19.
“In line with the Government guidance, I have notified the Department for Education and the local authority and have been advised that the school should remain open.
“Leadership have ensured that staff-to-pupil ratios are compliant with Government guidelines. We are, however, operating with a reduced staffing structure; this includes in the school office.
“I would ask that you are patient during this time and understand that we are doing everything we can to keep the school open and running smoothly.”
