Peter Etebo’s Getafe’s Europa League tie against Inter postponed due to the coronavirus.
Getafe are having a superb season domestically and internationally and beat Ajax over two legs to make the last 16 of the Europa League.
But their glamour trip to Italy, scheduled for tomorrow, has been called off – as has Seville’s match against Roma.
A statement from Uefa said: “As a result of the travelling restrictions between Spain and Italy imposed yesterday by the Spanish authorities, two UEFA Europa League Round of 16 matches will not take place as scheduled tomorrow.
“Further decisions on the two matches will be communicated in due course.”
Etebo has forced his way into the starting XI for Getafe in La Liga, playing the last four games – defeats to Barcelona and Seville, a win at Mallorca and draw with Celta Vigo.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international is on loan from Stoke City with an option to make the deal permanent. He had been left out of the Europa League squad, because Getafe were only allowed to make a limited number of mid-season changes.
