One of Stoke City‘s Championship rivals, Derby County, are reported to be in advanced talks with an American billionaire about a major financial injection.
The Telegraph claim Rams owner Mel Morris and American financier Michael Dell are discussing “a range of financial arrangements, which could include a significant loan, investment or takeover”.
The 55-year-old is the owner of MSD Capital, a private New York investment firm, and was listed by Forbes magazine as the 25th richest man in the world last year.
The Telegraph report adds: “Dell has held talks with a number of other clubs in England… and was partly involved in a potential takeover at Sunderland last year.
“Derby have been in dialogue with him for the last few months.”
