The prediction Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers fans will love – but Leeds United will hate

Stoke City have just twelve games left of their Championship season and the stakes are high.

Michael O’Neill’s side are currently just three points clear of the dreaded drop at the bottom of the division and must still some tough challenges between now and the end of the season.

The Potters must get past Leeds United, Brentford, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest along with making the most of six-pointers against Luton Town, Wigan Athletic and Barnsley.

But the first of the tough tests comes against Blackburn Rovers who have revealed themselves as true dark horses in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

Rovers have lost just one of their last eight games, winning four, and are now just five points behind sixth place side Preston North End.

And out supercomputer has predicted them to snatch that all-important final play-off spot in May.

The computer has also predicted Stoke to see their fight for survival to go right down to the wire at the bottom, finishing the season just a point above Wigan after falling to back-to-back defeats in their final two games.

Michael O’Neill watches on as Stoke City beat Cardiff 2-0.

Leeds will fall short of promotion once again, it has been predicted, with Derby County one again being the side to rob them on the vital points needed in the penultimate game of the season – while West Brom and Brentford will go up automatically.

Here is the supercomputer’s predicted table in full:
