Three arrests after Shelton street attack leaves Audi driver in hospital



Detectives have made three arrests after a Stoke-on-Trent street attack left a man in hospital.

Police were called to an assault outside Lloyds Chemist, in Stoke Road, Shelton, at around 8.25pm last night (May 17).

The victim, aged in his 40s, suffered head and facial injuries, and his car, a white Audi, was also damaged.

Three men – aged 26, 35 and 36 and all from Stoke-on-Trent – remain in custody this afternoon.

Last night’s attack follows a stabbing on Caledonia Road, Shelton, on Saturday (May 15).

Staffordshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman said: “The three men, aged were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and affray.

“Anyone with information should get in touch.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

A spokesman said: “We were called by the police to the Shelton area at 10.31pm last night following an assault.

“One ambulance attended and assessed one man who had sustained a number of injuries. He was given treatment on scene before being conveyed to hospital.”
